At Old Hall School we believe in exceptional, educational experiences for all. With a broad and balanced forward-thinking and innovative curriculum, we aim to build the foundations upon which all learning will be built. It is these foundations, built from the beginning of a child's educational journey, that will ensure the strength of all that follows them.
Old Hall School is an independent, co-educational day school for children aged 4 to 11 in Wellington, Shropshire. In choosing Old Hall School, you elect to educate your child in a school which has at its core the aim of enabling every child and adult in its community to be the very best that they can be. You will have chosen education without boundaries or ceilings, where children can be children in a safe and happy environment.
We understand that whilst most of our parents want similar things for their children, there are often questions, relevant to individual families, which require specific answers. If you are unable to find the answer to your question within these pages, or you require further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly here at school. We will be very happy to help!

Book Your PlaceA word from the Head…
I am delighted to be writing to you as the Head of Old Hall School. It is a privilege to lead this school in this, an exciting phase of development and growth.
As the Head at Old Hall, I believe wholeheartedly in working with parents as partners and am fully committed to our school placing outstanding pastoral care for our children at the heart of all we do. At Old Hall, staff know and care for the children very well. There is a huge importance placed on positive relationships and a supportive and nurturing environment where children feel safe and secure and where they can thrive, develop and grow. This was borne out in our recent Independent Schools Inspectorate report which rated us ‘Excellent’ in all areas, and I encourage you to read this to hear what an independent body has to say about our school.
I am entirely committed to lifelong learning. As teachers, we need to demonstrate to our pupils that learning is a continuous journey. I am privileged to work with an outstanding teaching team who are well-focussed, well-supported and encouraged to be passionate about education. I wholeheartedly believe this contributes to providing the very best and most up-to-date educational experience for the children in our care, and this is the ethos that I encourage in our staff room.
In an environment where we say that we put children first, we must. As an educator, I believe passionately that your children have one chance at education and it must therefore be the best. We know, as parents, that an education shapes a child, and that an excellent education affords the most opportunities for a bright future.
It will be a privilege to work with you in the years ahead in order to provide the very best education for your children. I hope to meet and welcome you to Old Hall very soon.
